Engine first or Exterior mods??
I have a 96 Hatch dx and I don't know what to do with it at the moment. I have already done some modifications to it such as: interior paint (but to a minimum) 3 1/2" SunPro tach goes to 10K RPM, 2 12" subs, intake, and exhaust. The whole car just got repainted about a 2 weeks ago and it was all because someone decided to key the whole thing then a week later someone hit it in my work parking lot. So it needed it. I can't decide what to do to it next. To make it a sleeper or to make it look better than it does. Should I drop a b18 in it a make it a sleeper? or put a lip, rims, springs, and a tint job?

Ugh...
I also suggest doing the swap. My car looks relatively stock now, but it is quick. I would rather sacrifice looks for awhile to be faster.

save your money and do some of the suspension/rim sorta stuff and just keep your eye out for a good motor deal. if you can't find a good and cheap motor then just keep going with the body sort of stuff you want to do and wait for a good deal to come along.
kinda what i did. i was working on saving for new paint/suspension/rims, but a buddy of mine had a friend selling a cheap b18b so i spent the paint money on the motor.

light wheels/good tires, brakes, suspension, swap, engine/tranny work, then turbo if you're still not satisfied
oh, and then looks.

actually, i have a friend that has like an 80 something nissan pickup, he painted his air vents blue. i think it looks pretty damn cool. then again, another guy i used to work with put blue vynil all over the inside of his blazer and it looked like ***. he's been trying to sell it for close to a year now...

i suggest you get some hyper white l.e.d. washers, big 50" chrome spinners, raise your car up sum mo, get a powered by honda vinyl graphic on the side, a wild neon yellow paint job, and your set. and no, im not kidding.
I say do what you want. You wont get any meaningful replies here with that question...and in the end YOU have to drive it. If you likes look, then go for it. Not everyone has to have the JDM look to have a nice car. And not everyone has to drop a B series motor in theri car or turbo the D. IF you want a body kit...get it. I have seen some nice cars that werent JDM tye. Nice body kit, rims, etc. Do what suits you and you can always do both. In my opinion the JDM look is just as bad as 19" chrome rims and ugly body kits. Its just a fad
