Default Can I safely run a Direct Port 100 shot?

Hey guys just like the topic says, I have a NOS direct port nitrous kit, and a 2001 Integra GSR. If I take the normal precautions such as retard timing, and get colder plugs could I safely run a 100 shot? What are some of your guy's actual experiences with it?

limit on the stock should be kept about 75. i wouldnt push it any more. make sure ur pressure is right and get at least some fuel montering. it never hurts to not blow anything up.

My thinking was that if people run wet 75 shots, then I should be fine with a direct port 100. Anyone else have thoughts on this?

Ran 120 on a stock gs-r engine with a million miles for the better part of three years before the bearings wouldn't take anymore. And it wasn't like use it every once in a while. It was not uncommon to go through 3-4 bottles a weekend. We got the engine from a wrecked teg and that guy before us didn't take very good care of that engine(and obviously that car as well). So it lasted quite a while. I didn't think it would becuase that engine seemed to be on its last leg. Now running that same 120 on a stock b16 and its still running fine. The only mods really aside form intake header exhaust are 330 rc injectors, a holley fuel pump, a bored throttle body and a msd ignition. Of course if you don't know how to tune an engine properly then 100 shot is just going to melt a piston, bend a rod, burn a valve or a few other possibilities. If you don't know what you are doing then 50 shot could be harmful to your engine.

and your 120 shot was direct port?

so in respnose to my post... if I retard timing and get colder plugs is that alone enough to keep a safe a/f

You obviously don't have a hole bunch of experience with nitrous. SO I would tell you now to go over a 50-60 shot. Retarding your timing and running a colder plug will not be enough to run 120 safely. Our set-up isn't enough to run it safely we just have a good tune and it has held together nicely.

I don't have much experience with Nitrous, but I have run turbo cars, so I understand the concept of knocking, detonation correct, a/f ratios, etc, etc...

and I originally asked about a 100 shot....

what would you recomend then? a 75 shot?

I have a nx single nozzle wet kit and I am running a 75 shot with just colder plugs and walboro fuel pump. If you were going to go with 100 shot atleast get a msd box with boost retard to keep it safe you shouldnt have any problems.I would get a larger fuel pump also with fuel pressure reg. just make sure you have enough fuel with the nitro!

An msd boost retard won't work with nitrous. Really get a MSD digital 6 plus with a retard option on it. Just wire that retard into your nitrous switch and bam everytime you arm it your retard is set.

DAMNIT SOMEONE ADDDED A MOO POINTER ON THIS SITE. IS ANYONE HAVING THIS PROBLEM? I can't click on crap. Oh well.

team-integra has a beutiful article about the basics of nitrous, id sugest u read that very throughly and just take ur time. nitrous isnt rocket science in the fact that the basics arent hard, but to run it well uve gotta do ur research.

take a 75 shot with some ignition and some fuel tuning.
