New to Honda-Tech, just a general question and hello
Hey dudes-
Im pretty new to this site and was just checkin it out. Awesome so far, great place to get info and see what other people are up to with their cars. I will say that I have a new respect for all the import people...I've always had classic car/trucks. Last one was a 1956 Ford F-100 truck 400CI engine slammed etc.. and always had import dudes trying to race me, which used to really **** me off. Then I ended up crashing that truck and decided to pick up an Integra (94 integ LS-bout a year ago or so). Theres a ton of work and style that goes into all yer guy's cars that I never really noticed before.. so I thought i'd say that. I was anti import in my classic car days but I totally respect the sport and all the rad rides. I hope I am welcome into yer honda-tech world..
I did have a question to anyone that may be able to help.. I wanted to get some decent speed into my car... I hear that turbo seems pretty common but I also hear that the LS-VTEC mod is pretty awesome. Is there any major probs that come with this or is it a pretty easy swap? I've already lowered it and handled the suspension. Did the carbon fiber hood front lip, side skirts and other simple appearance things. Anyways in terms of speed any recomendations? I'd love to hear any comments on it... thanks!
Big jump from classic hotrods/trucks to the teeny tiny world of Honda 4-bangers huh?
Ls/vtec involves taking a b18b (integra ls) bottom end and putting on a vtec head, from maybe a b18c1 (gsr), b16a (civic si is one), b18c5 (integra type r). Its something that needs to be done right, as there are a couple of nuances involved in the swap that are easy to forget about/do wrong if you haven't done it before. There's also a ton of conflicting opinions/information on the topic of ls/vtec's, so a search will turn up a lot of information, but you need to figure out who to believe, and what not to believe, or you will be massively confused.
But the bottom line is you heard right; the ls/vtec can turn out very good power, both in NA form and boosted. Just make sure you have it done right, and do your homework.

That is a very good question. And like you said this is a very good site to find a ton of information. Just so you know, you might want to try searching first. That way you can find your answer without having to make a repeat post. https://honda-tech.com/zerosearch
