bad fuel pump, mainrelay, or ignition problem????HELP
Okay, heres the problem... i was going for a cruise and all of the sudden the car dies out. I go to start it up again it wont start. I give it a 20 minute break and try again and this time it starts up. I get it back to the house and the car will not start for anything. I checked all the plugs, wires, and fuses everything is good. I swap Main Relays with another car and still nothing. The car cranks over but just wont start. The fuel pump does not come on either, but still every once in awhile the car starts. So once it starts it will run forever meaning the fuel pump cant be bad. My next attempt is taking out the fuel pump and putting in a new one....even thou that dosen't seem to be the problem, but before i do, are there any other things i can try before this?? Thanks
I had an old Integra that did this. I wacked the fuel pump with a mag light and it turned back on. That trick worked long enough for me to buy a new pump

A very good way to diagnose a possible fuel supply problem is to hook up a fuel presure gauge and monitor the fuel presure when the car is acting up.

its a 92 civc SI, i bought the car w/a new sohc vtec, the valve cover reads 92,000 from a junk yard so i dont know if the pervious owner change it or not, how can a new timing belt be linked to a starting problem?

So it has spark huh?.. What about fuel?.. How do you know the fuel pump isn't working?.. Is it not priming?..
If it were me, before I go pulling out the fuel pump, I'd test it first.

i replaced the fuel pump, igniter control module, main relay, checked all fuses, my ignition coil reads 12ohms and no spark : now heres the problem - no power to fuel pump and 1ohm to the main relay, this sounds like a loose ground but where? I need detialed instructions upon where to look for grounds. I think there is a set of gounds behind the cruise control box under the dash im gonna try that now but i need any other suggestions Thanx

So it had spark & now it doesn't? Replacing parts is an expensive way to diagnose things.

welp, I just thought id post to tell you guys what the problem ended up being. It was a bad ecu, swapped ecus with my bro once again and the car started right up.
not jacking the topic but mine is simular, I can not get mine to prime the fuel pump when its been in the sun all day, its hot in texas. I replaced the main relay, new walbro 255lph, and drove it today but when I go to start it after sitting all day it would not prime , so I rolled down my windows for 10 min. or so to cool the cab off and it fired right up. possibly ecu ? I dont know....
damn same thing is happening to me right now. i can hear the car turning over but i cant hear the fuel pump (i also dont really know what it sounds like). how can i tell if its the fuel pump or alternator?
