another alternative is to spend about $500 estimate and do the mini-me conversion
a sohc vtec head in your d15b2... a lot of resources in this board and the web and you can use the function SEARCH

but anyways... WELCOME

OK i can see you want an Answer. Look While you will gain some extra power from those mods. It still wont matter if you only have a 40mm Tb and 2 injectors. Look nobody is trying to be a dick, but were not gonna lie. Do a Mpfi Swap First. It will cost about the same as all those parts. So its like you dont have the cash. Save the money. That swap will yeild the most HP for your buck.

you have a d15b2, alot of people will say swap to a B or some other **** or at least an A6 or z6 or y8.

Go do the MPFI swap, get an Si tranny, then do i/h/e and put a cam in, and u wil have a fun car.

PM me, and i may be able to get u the tranny, and the swap from an 89si.

But it needs done ASAP.

He said he was going to tow his CRX (with his civic, which this thread is about)Have you never towed a car with another car before?

On your civic, You probably will gain a noticable amount of tourque but it is still a 1.5. They just don't have the stroke for tourque. The biggest gains will be felt at the high end. I put a d15b2 in my 90 civic Si (long story) and it didn't seem to have any loss of high end power. The low end was a bit worse though. I still had the Si Tranny which made everything a little easier to cope with. I would Hit up Phatrick2332 and try to get that engine/tranny for the 89 Si. Well, good luck.

towed my civic with an integra in the middle of the worst snowstorm we had last year, worked flawlessly and it was a hell of a lot cheaper than a tow truck. we even used a ******* electrical extention cord as a tow strap

WTF... how did this thread turn into how to tow your CRX thread... this was never about towing....

this thread, if your read in the first post... is about how much power gain can he have in the d15b2 w/ mods...

totally nothing to do with towing....

and wtf do you want to tow a crx w/ a civic... you will be lucky if you can get over a hill.... might as well use a bigger car or a minivan..or suv it will save you the pain of towing eventually that both of them (crx and the civic)

first off this is a dumb NOOBIE question..... how the f*ck can you get torque increases from DPFI to MPFI.. FYI there is little gain in the low end (TORQUE), but a slightly better curve in the high end (HORSEPOWER) since you got more fuel running in the combustion chamber...

if you want torque.. swap in a b20 and bore it to 86mm... keep this in mind... the more displacement you got the more torque you will have....

Don't put intake, header, or exhaust on a DX motor without MPFI swapping it. I have been through it all and speak from experience.

The throttle body on the D15B2 is the size of a golf ball. There's no real power advantage to be gained by adding an intake to the DPFI motor, cause the flow is already highly restricted by the intake manifold. I hold the opinion that exhaust on most hondas, particularly the lower compression lower-revving ones, accomplishes nothing but to make your car loud and sound like garbage, and rednecks who don't respect hondas to begin with will point and laugh at you. Header, you're not gonna get very much gains from to begin with, and will cost you about $300, when it costs no more than $120 or so to do the MPFI swap.

Do the MPFI swap, it cost me $100 to do. The writeup is on my page, http://www.bladesilver.net/crx/ in the projects section. Its complete with pics. Its a pretty fun project to do for newer tuners, and gets you into doing a little more than just bolt-on type stuff. You can do it in an afternoon.

I can tell you right now that there is no way you can spend $100 to gain anywhere near that much power for the motor you have. Its not going to be spectacular, its still not going to be quite up to a D16A6, but at least then the bolt-ons that you get will go a little farther.

and if you ever decide to swap something else, Mini-me, B-series, whatever, you'll have the wiring ready for it.

website doesnt work for me, i click and nothing happens.. could you possibly paste the procedure into this thread?

i think im going to do the Minime (y8 head for more compression) with i/h/e/cam, i think that will give me enough torque to tow my crx with all my things. oh, and i have an auto tranny so i wont have to worry about breaking any clutches or anything.. should be a sweet engine when im done.
