Well, i got off the head today....:(
If anyone remembers my CRXs story at this point, they will remember that my car died and i was trying to figure out the problem. Well i had spark, fuel and some compression (i did a ghetto compression test) well i have been prepping my car for the DOHC ZC swap that i will be doing next friday if my engine gets in soon. So i finnally got off the cylinder head today and it looked like....
well piston #1 looked kinda not so good....#2 looked like a piece of aluminum foil put in the microwave for a good 20 minutes...#3 made #2 look good and #4 one of valves was kinda bent it looked like.
So now the question...What should i do with the block? i don't think a junk yard will want it, its too big for a paper weight, and i think it might be beyond repair.
any imput would be nice

is it only the piston that are the problems.. are there any damages in the cylinder walls... if not you can probably change the piston and reuse it.. but then again if you dont reuse it, it will useless.. usual the going rate for those block arent so great..
Well the valves are all shot too, so i figure i'm gonna try and part out some stuff i can't use on my newer engine. maybe i can take out the pistons and have a new ash tray
...either way its a dead engine and the D16a6 isn't such a good engine to invest in, in my opinion.

if you want to gain some experience if your time allows it.. not unless you are a mechanic already... this would be a good block to experiment on... figure stuff out taking it apart and putting back in ... or beat the **** out of it for dying on the spot.. LOL
LMAO, i'm in the process of the first one (learning the D series engine) and i had the fun of beating the **** out of it when i loosened the head from the block..it was solid. But thats a good idea. If i can find a place to stash it i'll do that definitly, but living in apartments and having limited tools and such i can only do so much.
