Default **Been away for a while...heres what has happened(long)**

Well my computer has been f*#ked for like 4 months and i just got it fixed...so heres a little update on my car.

Well i had it running good for a while with the turbo kit....then i decided to change to an SMC500 for tuning...well what a mistake that was. It had been running beautifully...i raced and beat many worthy opponents(mostly non '03 cobras and SS'). I loved the look on their faces when they heard the open wastegate screaming at them as i tore by. Well it turns out luck wasnt on my side. First i developed a boost leak from somewhere which caused me to spike to 7 then slowly creep down to 5.5. I tried everything in the world(including a new wg) but i couldnt fix it. Then the SMC went to hell and it wouldnt burn in some of the settings....especially from 4k-5krpms.

So the first time i took it to the track the unthinkable happens. I pulled up and did my burnout...which got everyones attention(open dp and wg sounds like a jet between 2 buildings doing a WOT burnout). I stage her up...the light drops and so does the clutch. All i hear is the sounds of spinning tires then i see the rev limiter coming on...so i ease her into 2nd hoping to regain some traction. Then suddenly the car hickups and BOOM...it feels like it just has nothing in it. At this point im so pissed that i just stay in it and end up running a 9.3 @81 or something like that. I pull into the pits and pop the hood...smoke just comes pouring out. The first thing i see is smoke just pouring out of the valve cover. Right then i knew i burnt some rings...and later tests proves my theory. 170-178-16-108. Oh well time for a new motor.

So i buy another b18a and rebuiltit with all stock parts. Half way through the build i give up on it and decide that im seilling the turbo and going back to all motor. So i sell it and get a skunk2 IM and some exospeed cams and call it a day. Since then all ive done is install a jimfab x-member(best mod ever) and i invested in some avs es100's(also a great mod).

The car runs strong as hell to be a b18a with i/h/e/cams/IM...but it just isnt the same as the feeling when that turbo spools and your car feels like it squats and just takes off. Unfortunately i havent been able to enjoy it lately because of some serious medical problems...but i hope to be back on my feet and back in the game again sometime soon. But i dont know if im going to sport the crx again or not...im thinking about building something awd or rwd.

i know most of you are saying "who gives a f*#k"...but i thought that id post this because alot of you have helped me throughout the years and i thought someone might like to know. I would post pics but i lost them all when my comp crashed...but if you search im sure you can find some...especially in the FI forum.

Sorry i took up so much of your time with my pointless rambling

PS-I dont think that a 9.3 is that bad for a crx on 2.5 cyliders and 5.5psi

Hey man good luck, nice to hear your car is running again.

I hope you get better too. It always sucks when something goes wrong with your body, it costs more to fix.

Honda power is sweet...but when you drive a german air cooled rocket, that can at the stomp of the gas pedal lift the entire front end, is an amazing feeling! HONDA ,VW
