Default Info on a b20 project...

Whats up fellas....

After some long thought about my ls/vtec project that i want to start, i decided to go B20/vtec. What I want to know is if I can use a b20z from an older prelude SI, as opposed to a newer b20b from a CRV. Is there any benefits/drawbacks to using this z block if i can?

And also, a b20 setup with a b16a head, is this basically the same procedure as doing an ls/vtec as far as motor mounting goes...i know i still have to run the oil lines and i was going to contact AEBS about their dowel pin kit and use the golden eagle ls/b2o vtec kit. So basically all im asking is if i can use ls mounts and whatever tranny i use, use the respective axles?

prelude had the b20a, which is junk

B20b comes in pre-99 crv's usdm or jdm

B20z is the 99-01 Crv motor.

B20z has 9.6 compression B20b has 8.8.

If you don't plan to change the pistons, go w/ the b20z

You are right about the mounts, the B20 is basically a bored out LS, so no external differences.

what makes the z higher compression than the b? z motors are very hard to come by for a reasonable price so im looking at the b20b for now
