aftermarket, stock, or owned intake? before i drive to expo.
basically what happened is, the previous owner of my R was in an accident, and the resonator tube for the stock intake was ripped off. so i just have an intake tube with a box + filter. nothing exists past the box. my filter is also to the point of replacement. would i be better off getting a new resonator tube with a new filter, or spending the money on an aftermarket intake? either way, i dont want to drive to the expo, or anywhere really, the way the car is now.
If you want a kazoo(like me) get the AEM cheap and loud. Or, you can spend a lil' more and get the comptech(what I wish I bought) ice box
Of course , it wouldn't hurt pricing out what you need with Len @ Baranco Acura

There has to be some type of "performance" shop near you. The price may not be as good as you can find online but most of them deal with warehouses that can have your parts in the next day or so
Honestly unless you have just gotta have a stock intake entirely including the resonator (which is not a huge deal to have) I wouldn't spedn/waste the money.
And or unless you can find someone willing to part with a stock setup for you to purchase second-hand asap, I wouldn't waste money on buying it new OEM from any dealer.
If you are undecided as of now or are short on some money I'd just get a K&N or Comptech filter and run it in the stock box you have now without the resonator, or even with the top removed "a la short ram style".
It's not a big deal to not have the whole intake assembly and is what more than a few of us have tried before we went to aftermarket intakes. You could even add some 3" aluminum dryer ducting to the intake box if so desired for some cool air, but I gotta be honest with my experience and the added ducting didn't provide anything worth it.
Besides when you are on the track, you are constantly moving with airflow so the AEM/CAI wouldn't neccessarily have any more gains over a well designed short ram, IE, J's, Comptech, etc...
But a DIY shorty with a good filter will be just fine for your needs.
