first of all the type R motor is a b18c5 usa and jdm b18c ,so take note that the block that you are saying going to the # of the block is a gsr motor ,also went you get the motor you have to do a full change over which is tranny, axles ,shift linkage, ecu and run some extra wires to make the ecu work and you are going to run a 5 speed tranny ,to this point i havent seen any one run an automatic tranny with that type of motor !

NO NO NO...!
You need a different ECU for that. You can hope to find a JDM GRS Auto trans. The have GSR Auto over there.

actually i think JDM B18C is from a SiR-G. which is equivilant to our gs-r but it has a higher C/R than the USDM B18C1.

but yeah how much did this motor set you back? and who did you get this from?

Both the SIr-G and the ITR come as a B18C in Japan. The only way to tell is looking @ the stamp on the head (P73) the intake manifold, making sure you have a S80 tranny that says LSD (It still may not be a ITR tranny). If the head says P73 and the serial number matches up on all three major parts (Head, tranny, and block), then you most likely have a JDM Type R motor.

But I hope this guy is joking (From the look of his post).

*Someone shoulda asked some questions before lying*

Is more my opinion....

Hmmmm I wonder how the Type R motor would work with a High stall <5k or so > LS Auto tranny.... it'd definitely be INTERESTING!

Yes, you can bolt up your SOHC AUTO tranny up to the Type-R engine.
Using your AUTO tranny is actually better than the 5 speed Type-R tranny.
Your acceleration will be insane!

In fact....look into buying an X-trac sequential 6 speed gear box, that will bolt right up & will totally kill your gas mileage! but hey, what's performance all about it you don't sacrifice something right?

oh wait a second....
you sacrificed your wallet by not using common sense & asking what's needed to make an 'R' engine work in your civic....

I guess that's what you get when you j u m p on the bandwagon!

.....(damn was that a little harsh!? I'm sorrry ...)

I'll TRADE my S80 LSD tranny (stock USDM) ITR tranny with ATS 4.929 final drive and GS-R .787 5th gear for a D-series AUTO tranny if anyone's interested...

I'm tired of having to shift so much - it gets really annoying, you know? I know the D-series slushbox will be the best thing for my ITR swap. Those AUTO's REALLY make the car haul ***!

I was also thinking about doing the crazy-*** CX tranny with the VX final drive! Hey Katman, do you have any lines on that combo?

I guess I'll take either an auto tranny or CX/VX hybrid trans. and add some cash plus my ITR tranny if anyone's got this stuff.

LATER.

1. No D series trans will bolt to any B series block
2. if your block says B18C1 it aint no type R (no matter what the person who sold it to you says)
3. Honda makes some of the best FWD transmissions on the planet. Please tell me you arn't serious about using an automatic

It's gotten to the point where we're almost to the second page...and this guy hasn't responded yet. Which makes me think that this was a joke... or that you've scared him off by now. No good in making fun if there isn't anyone to hear it. I think we've taken it to far...
