I know this question is kind of too early or maybe even stupid to ask, but here I go. Any of you heard of Acura would like to release DC5 in the US anytime? I tend to be believe they will but just not sure when will they do it since they released DC2 in US and I think they will be even more successful selling those rare cars in the US for DC5. Any rumor or news on that? Thanks

What about the DC2? Anybody at that time expected the DC2 would come out at that time? Because honestly, I was not a car fans at that time so did not know too much about car. So can any of you guys who bought their DC2 brand new at that time tell me how you guys know the Type R was releasing? Thanks

 

when they decide to release it, if they do, theyll promote it.

I really want to know how did you guys bought your Type R back in the 00-02. How did you guys know about it was coming? Since if it is coming, I really would like to purchase one as I already missed the DC2.

 

I saw JDM DC2R in Honda Showroom in Aoyama, Japan
and in Tokyo motor show 11/95. I bought 10/95 Best Motoring video on the review and fell in love.
1/97 Autoweek had article on debut of 97 USDM ITR in 3/97. I end up buying it in 7/97.
I totaled it in 11/99 so I just told my dealer I wanted another one so end up with delivery of FBP00R in 3/00.
I doubt that DC5R ever come to US since Honda trying to built up scales image to Acura and keep the kiddies at Honda. It maybe better chance for CTR instead.

I walked into a Honda/ Acura dealer to buy a leftover 00 Si and they had none and were all ready sold out So I went to Acura to see about a black 4dr GSR and they had none...

I went home rather upset but holding a brochure for Integras and saw a small section of a PY R and turned the car around and went back to the dealer.

Since I knew the guy for a long time, he said "you don't want that car".
SO with being denied, I insisted for him to get me one and tossed $500 on his desk. a bunch of calls and going to another dealer to get it I had it 2.5 months later

 

So were there any ads promoting the type R at that time? Coz some of you said it was promoted. I always wanted to know how those of you got your R's brand new from dealers.

usa DID have type r commercials back in 1998.
i saw the same itr commercial 2 nights in a row, during the david letterman show.

Because if they do release DC5, I will be buying it for 80%. However, I don't see or hear any rumors about that. I am kinda tend to believe they will this year and release it as 2005 model since the RSX has been on the market for quite sometime now and they should make some changes such as putting a Type R model as it was back in the 2000's for DC2 and the integra's. Anyway, thanks for the sharing and just want to know if Acura had ever advertise Type R on TV.

it was a type r commercial. 98 cw integra r.
i even taped it onto vhs, but then my lady taped over it.
i saw it twice on tv tho.

 

even if the dc5 r come out. it will be for 27g. for that price everyone would go for evo, sti, or s2k . thats how i c it though.
