ok i'm trying to figure this out i searched but still a little unsure if my problem is ignition switch related.it has all the semptoms that were described in other related topics.i turn the key to on position and nothing happens i turn it half way between on and start and hold the key there ,while there i hear the relay click and fuel pump prime then turn it to start and it cranks over but as soon as i let off on the key it dies again.In other related topics the suggested problem was faulty ignition switch.so i called some parts stores to see what they have and they keep asking me if its the lock part or the electrical part that i need to replace.so this is my question.do i need the lock part or electrical part of the ignition switch,or do i need to replace both?

 

electric. had a 89 civic do the exact same thing. get a new electrical switch and all will be good.
