Default Painting plastic on our cars.

88 crx to be exact.

When painting. Do i just sand/primer the plastic like the body? Or do i remove it and paint the body then paint the plastic laying on cardboard.

What im trying to say. Do you have to use different paint on the plastic. and if so what kind?

sand with 400 clean really well and if you want it to look perfect use "bulldog adhesive promoter" if you dont care .. just primer

EDIT: you can paint the plastic on or off..but crx's tend to be on the brittle side of taking plastic parts off.. so best to paint them on the car and just tape up what you dont want painted.. you can use any kinda paint but nothing works better then auto paint .. and im gonna guess your not using that so .. try a duplacolor they have pretty decent paint for cans.. good luck

dupli color makes a bumper plastic parts paint or something. Tom aka b18c5-eh2 did a write up on painting his moldings again, and it came out great...

let me see if i can find it...

BINGO: found it
