my daughter has a 2000 Accord and it will not shift out of park. it is on level ground so that isn't the problem. i took the **** and button apart and everything seems ok. is there a lever on the transmission where the cable goes? i haven't been under the car yet to see but could feel the cable wanting to move but it felt jammed. anyone know how to fix or had this problem? thanks

 

can you hear the shift lock click when you step on the brake pedal? ck to see if brake lites work,if not,ck your brake switch,it controls the shift lock
