HELP: taking off the shift boot panel to real the dust boost with the shifter
I need to install a dust boot/ dust shield. How do I take off the panel with the shift boot on it? Any help please, thanks
You have to take the back part off with the center console thing first by liffting that plastic piece at the tip of the e-brake handle. Then the two big screws down b your feet on each side. Remove the ashtry and theres two or three screws. And the plastic piece right above the ashtray you have to just pull offf cause there is a couple of screw under that.

How do I take off the ashtrays? Do I just pull it off?

really, it's only a 5 minute procedure -- I've done it dozens of times. As mentioned above, start by removing the console (remove all the screws -- yes, you just pull the ashtray out; it has a spring-loaded retaining bar, you'll see what I mean once you try it). After the console's out, just remove the center/shifter section of the middle console. It helps to wrap a flat-head screwdrive in electrical tape, before prying up the access panel beneath the emergency brake, to avouid marring the plastic -- keeps it looking nice and new.
