need ur help

the other day i put in a new clutch...after i plug everything back in my speedomter doesnt work..i figure that my speed sensor is probably dead....the funny thing is that only my mph is dead not my rpm...if anyone can tell me what is going on with my car...i know its not the harness cause its new and i try my si gauge and dx gauge and they both dont work..also check fuse...if it is my speed sensor can anyone tell me how to check to see if it is dead...thanks my car is a 96 dx hatch....

First off, your rpm doesnt run off the speed sensor, thats why it works. Second, are you getting a check engine light?
