Can someone tell me if it's possible that a check engine light code 16 (fuel injectors) can come on due to a starter problem? I recently had to replace my starter because it had a dead cell. A Honda Specialty shop advised me that the code CAN come on if someone continually tries to start the car without it turning over. Someone else advised that they need to purge my whole injection system ($400) - trying to sell and don't want to keep pouring more money into this car.

If it is possible, should I clear the code now that the starter has been replaced and see if it continues?

Thank you to anyone that can help me!

yes clear the code and try again

the service manual ALWAYS says that first. Clear the code by resetting the ecu, if code comes on again do .. blah blah.
