Default No Oil Pressure Problems

hello there and thank you -- i just have a quick question for everyone? after a long time of not havin all the money and bs, i got my motor built and installed in my hatch. i went to do the new engine brake-in, hooked-up my oil pressure gauge, and with no spark plugs, i cranked her over. come to find out that i have no oil pressure! i installed a new type r oil pump that i bought from the dealership, along with new ACL bearings i got from Earl. i was wondering if there is anything else i could do or check before i start taking things apart?? i don't see why a brand new oil pump wouldn't work? if anyone could help me out in anyway that would be sweet!!! thanks

im using a brand new snap-on oil pressure tester cause no one around here had one for sale, but it should read around 10psi during cranking right?? i'll try with a little more oil and crank it some more.

anyone else??

you may/may not be able to get a readable pressure from just cranking the motor with the starter

you might wanna check to see if the gauge is any good iwould just hook up a screw on type gauge like a fuel psi gauge no wiring no tubes and screw it on the side of the head and rev it up NOTE: it only reads at high rpm's then youll know if theres oil pressure or not

Try filling the oil filter with oil then cranking it. It can take a while sometimes but that usually helps.
