Honda makes awesome rings, stout enough to hold well over 500whp no problem. If not, I've had success with JE and Wiseco supplied rings.

2- JE often sells oem rings in JE boxes.

 

Any idea how much rings cost?

 

May I ask why u do not like the total seal piston rings, have u ever used them.

 

I have used both JE and OEM in my boosted cars. I currently have JE's in there right now. Rings normally run around 90 bucks. Contact Race Engineering, they stock alot of rings for our cars.

As for The Total seal rings, I never used the myself, but i heard lots of bad comments about them from people that are top engine builders, and one of them even told me they were crap.

Someone have used them without having to fill oil very often ?

 

the fourth attempt on trying to seat them properly, even after going step by redundant step that Total Seal told me to take (we won't even discuss much about their "tech" line), they didn't seat, and I gave up on them. I know plenty about how to assemble a motor, but try again. However, those who have successfully seated them believe in them. Make your own opinion.

 

this is a popular topic here. this is my personal experience with total seal rings. i built a b16 for turbo with paulus at aebs a couple years back. we used total seal rings because they were supposed to be all that. my car bellowed plumes of smoke from the second i fired the motor up and the smoke got worse the more i drove it... and that's with over a thousand miles for the break-in. when we swapped the rings out, the problem stopped. we confronted total seal last year at sema about the problem and their reply was... and i quote.. "well.. we never really researched the honda rings." thanks total seal... for wasting my time and the time of honda owners across the nation.

 

That doesn't answer my question. Are Seal Power piston rings available for B-series?
