Default This is for the DOHC guys. First time at the track w/the Turbo D16 sol.

Just wanted to share w/the del sol guys and SOHC that come around here that I took my car to the track yesterday.

At 8.5psi. I ran a 14.3 @ 100.3mph. I beat a GSR hatch running 14.6 @ 97 on one of my runs as well. My trap's good for 13.2-13.2 on slicks. Ill be back in a few weeks lookin for high 13's on 10psi and street tires. Ill keep ya updated.

Here's the slip.

Just posted this so some of you del sol guys and SOHC can use this as a basis for the arguments I know you guys have all the time SOHC vs DOHC. THe battle will never end

Ah well, Honda's a Honda. RIGHT!

i bet w/ a 2.0 60 ft you would be in the high 13s without the slicks

lol

THANKS GUYS! I appreciate it

I can't wait to go back. Yeah those 60' times were crappy. I couldn't launch above 3000 b/c I had my full throttle launch at 3000 till 10mph. THAT SUCKED. But I was able to cut consistent 2.4 60' times

When I get back ill be lookin for only 2.3 60's It'll be my 2nd time at the track and im just starting to get the hang of it.

BTW just a little FYI: When I replaced the engine I reused the same headgasket. (100,000 miles and STILL counting) (hehe )

i don't know why you're throwing that in the face of DOHC'ers... thats not much weight to toss around. here's a link to a thread on hondavision.. its my old del Sol that i wrecked and sold for $500, now its got a teg front end and pullin 13.7's all motor on street tires, swapped with a stock GSR + I/H/E.

i run 14.1 w/ AC running, my 2 10's blaring mudvayne, and power steering helping me go straight on my EK hatch w/ a B swap. don't you throw your numbers around like we should be threatened.

definately good job on the turbo'ed D though, and i hope that all goes well and you can even push that d block harder and faster... i just got all emotional like a bitch about "this is for the DOHC guys"...

lol THANKS! I saw that post on Hondavision!! That's REALLY damn fast! I thought he was on slicks though.
It says slicks in the post.

Also, I know, im sorry about that.. I was just ******* around . I always see these convos popin up and there's usually more DOHC guys than SOHC guys so i figured it's usually a little unfair. We do get ripped on all the time though so that's the main reason I posted that. You're right though it's not much weight to toss around.

BTW guys, just a FIY, my DIY kit was only $1200.

SOHC 4 life

Nice times man!

1)Turn that boost up 1.5 more psi

2)replace wal-mart tires w/ anything else.

3)fix full throttle launch settings

4) run 13's

SOHC POWER!!!

Those numbers are good for a single cam. But it's turbo. If it was a duel cam with those times(GSR or something) it would be bone stock. So it's 100% obvious that duel cams are better, and if you can't see that then...... i dunno

13.65@98 here with a B16 all motor. your traps seem good. but u gotta think on how the tranny is gear'd. i had a friend running 14.4 @101 with a 2.1 60'. its all about the gearing that gives u your trap speed.

wow thoose 60's are sad... you need a lot of work. Tires tires tires.. get a traction bar while your at it, and loose some more weight, You have a ok start for 12's if you can put the work in.

with some slicks and lowering that 60 down to 2.1 u can get a 14.0 or 13.9
