overheating problems, should I remove the thermostat?
I have a crx with a b16 and a half size rad from a '78 civic. At a recent lapping session my car would start to overheat on the 4th lap.
I tried adding water wetter and using only about 20% antifreeze but it still happens.
Would removing the thermostat help?
Has anyone had success using ducting for the rad?

Flush out your cooling system so it's all clean. Get a low temp thermostat, you don't wanna take the thermostat out! Get a higher pressure radiator cap. If need be throw an integra radiatior in your car. But check and see why you are overheating? Do a compression and leak test (check the headgasket) and if you are losing water check for leaks/bad hose(s)/water pump.
and what cools better high antifreeze content or high water content?
I'm also using a slim fan mounted in front of the rad pushing air through the rad instead of pulling the air through the rad. Would this be blocking too much air flow?

Do what murt said, clean it out, lower temp thermo, and higher psi cap. I personally prefer a pull fan over a push. Also higher water content is better for cooling, the anti-freeze is mostly anti-corrosion and abviously anti-freeze. Water wetter should certainly help. Also be sure your fan is turning on. Sounds like you have a flow restriction...
i hope that 78 thing is a typo, if not then get rid of the 27 year old rad and step into the future with a new one! technology just may have gotten better in the last 27 years, but i could be wrong....

I second that, install a 90-93 integra radiator if it is from a 78' honda.

the '78 rad isn't helping but its a half size rad that fits perfect unlike the eg rads.
I know I could just put a bigger rad in.

ok well that radiator was made for an engine that only produces 63 HP not 160HP+ that's about 100HP the more power the more heat. I would try the scirocco type radiator this will fit perfect where your a/c condenser was/is check out the measurements. http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/nc...r=361
