Ive had my Tanabe for a while and since the day i got it it was always to loud. Now its just plain annoying! Anyone got any suggestions that are alot quieter but provide the same or better performance?

 

You should've got the Tanabe Hyper Medallion. MUCH more quiet and a nice piece.

My thoughts exactly. I'm trying to sell mine and no one wants it. I think everyone else is sick of the super loud exhaust as well. I liked the sound of it, but it does get real annoying.

 

well i bought this exhaust used really cheap since my car had no exhaust when i bought it so i was kinda sol in a sense. I would happily take a stock exhaust but i hate the way the muffler looks. Ive thought about keeping the Tanabe piping and adding a quieter and less ricer looking muffler. Any other suggestions?

 

I had one before....sold it for $350....use to like the loudness back then....now i have RSR...love it..

I just painted the stock one with rustolem barbque black...

 

i would sell mine in a heartbeat but i dont have a stock one to put on, and the can has a dent in it but you cant see it.

Im replacing my RM cuz its FRIGGIN loud as fawk, after a long trip my ears are ringing. If you roll with the silencer in it sounds way nicer. But I have a magnaflow thats going to go on im just waiting on a bit of piping from Kteller. Ill tell ya guys how it is.

send me some pics...I would roll around without an exhaust for a few days...alot of people do..

 

I have RM on my ls/vtec-rs, and its not to loud at all. Under vtec it can get pretty damn loud, but around town its nice a deep low pitch, unlike a lot of universal mufflers.. I would consider my RM to be more quiet in the city compared to most N1 guys in town..

see thats the problem i have a gsr motor in my ls now and as hard as it probly is to belive i stay out of vtec when i daily drive. And under vtec its just to damn loud.

 

I have the hyper maedallion And I hate it. It is way to quiet for me. I want that loud obnoxious sound you guys are talking about

 

RM is not as close to obnoxious on a daily driver as N1 is. I love my RM, with a stripped interior banging ls/vtec at 9 grand youuuu havent heard a sweeter sound!!

I think if you change your RM to something more quiet, you should change your wallet to a purse.

i also would like to trade my tanabe racing super medallion for a rsr ex mag... love that look... ive got silencer, so tone is nice and almost quiet...
