Might be time to replace tires soon...
What tire is a good replacement to the Bridgestones? I'm looking for a tire that will wear a little better, even if I have to give up some grip. And anything that won't break the bank, all the better. Thanks.

If you're willing to sacrifice performance to save a few bucks on tires, you should have bought one of the lower model Integras, and not wasted your money by paying extra for a Type R.
What, he will lose 4 mph on that on-ramp?

4 mph is about the difference on a on-ramp between my Type-R with PZeros and my 1995 Miata with three different types of cheap tyres. 4 mph is a lot. If you are not concerned about 4 mph, you really don't need a Type-R.

Take the R to an auto-x or a track and that is a whole different story...

I have my winter tires on right now, will rock the mucho dinero rubber when i'll be using the R to the max (Auto-x, track stuff) this summer. nothin wrong with that in my opinion

I recently switched to the new Falken Azenis' from http://www.discounttiredirect.com ... they are really inexpensive ($62 each for 205/50VR15) and have much better grip than the stock RE010's. I've run them at one local autoX and their grip level is close to that of my R-compound Kumho's!!! :D They are the performance and price leader right now with far better grip than any other tire I've ever owned.
Thanks for the welcome!
yeah, I've got an 01 Yellow ITR and run in CFR and Bucc region events. Which ITR are you? did you make it out to State Championships?

I am best friends with J.Prine.The sts guy.Mine is the one with the Advanced design shocks etc..I havn't raced at any events I have seen you at.My car has been down with some minor problems.
Whoa dude, just because I don't run tires that stick like fly paper doesn't mean that I can't appreciate a car like the Type-R. I guess I should have been more clear, I don't Auto-X or Circuit race the car, it's my daily driver. So buying all that expensive rubber just to make trips to the mall and grocery store seems...unwise wouldn't you say? Not to mention, I don't drive ***** to the wall everywhere I go (no tickets, no accidents). What you said is the same thing as, "Are you telling me that you didn't get your entire engine blueprinted because you wanted to save money? Then you shouldn't have bought the Type-R." Ummm, okay. And I'm still looking for a performance tire, just not one that costs in the $140.00 a piece range.

But, having lived in Seattle for 10+ years, I would recommend Bridgestone RE730 (~$75) or Kumho Ecsta Supra 712's (~$60) for the "off-season"/rainy and save up money for some summer tires and rims. You just can't compromise in Seattle weather. If you want the most out of the car (i.e. keep it from skidding and totalling it), get a rainy set and a dry set. IM me if you have any other questions.
p.s. I did run Pirelli P-zero in Seattle during the rainy months (late Sept - April) for over 2 years. Let's just say that hydroplaning is not that fun when you're least expecting it.
Having tried most popular types of tires between both the ITRs, i'm most happy w/ the falken azenis for its performance/price. It also has a relativly long life expentancy when compared to reo10 and advan A032r
