Default Best exhaust system? (japanese brands)

What exhaust will you prefere in a combination with JDM 4-1 header (custom polished):

2.5 inch (60mm)

5zigen Canon ball

Tanabe Racing Medallion

Fujitsubo Power getter (RS)

Looking forward for replies with comments on what is (+) and (-) on these types, such as sound, quality, price..... or if there is any other exhaust systems that can match these top japanese performers.

Looking forward to your replies!
bye

What is best to you? tanabe has nice gains but it sounds like absolute crap. The only exhausts I find really apealing are either Greddy Evo or Thermal, both don't show the highest gains but sound great. Unless of course you are planning to turbo the car then almost anything sounds good. I'm not a fan of the mugen twin loop seeing as how its price is NOT proportional to the horsepower gain. I'm not really familiar with the Rs*R series, but it sure looks damn good.

How are the prices going for the mugen twinloop?

I wonder why 5zigen is crap to you since this is the most popular exhaust in its homeland ?

Build quality is very important, also how is the exhaust made to fit on the car, flanges, bolts etc.

PS: im looking for NA tuning, so i think there is no need for "turbo like" greddy evo exhaust.

That was my reaction, too.

Put the damned wing back on. Raise the car up enough so you can hit a gater w/out hitting the header.

Dammit.

That yellow ITR looks like very good for a street car. What's wrong with it without a wing? Last time I checked, there weren't any gaters to hit on the streets. jfwy, george.

I like my Racing Medallion, loud as heck without the silencer. Love the sound too. That's with stock exhaust mani/cat.

I love my N1, I think it fits the best among others.

that Yellow ITR is nice, but the exhuast is sticking too far out.

They have something called the "Super Silent Structure" built into the exhaust (muffler)

My Japanese is pure rust so I can't get more than the engrish outta it.

More info here for the JDM in you: http://www.first-inc.co.jp/bud....html

The N1 is a rather turbo oriented exhaust, and I don't like Gozigen because of the tone of the exahust, just sounds high pitched and hollow. As far as mugen goes, its nice if you are going for a JDM style car, but it doesn't make sense when you put cost vs. gain next to it. I still think the thermal is a great sounding exhaust system, or else the HKS titanium exhuast series is amazing, although pricey. As far as the greddy evo being a turbo oriented exhaust, it isn't really, i understand its a popular choice for some people using FI setups but with its resonators and 2.5" piping its more of an overall setup. Tone is deep and clear, and when using a test pipe, exhaust tone doesn't really sound that much more higher in pitch. Guess I'm just a fan of greddy, oh and whats popular somewhere isn't always good, just look at pick up trucks and cavaliers.
