Default benefit of aftermarket crossmember

im not a mechanic obviously and i know very little about the mechanics of motors and cars but i know enough to get me by.
I tried searching but found nothing, and simply put, i would like to know what the major benefit of an aftermarket crossmember is... if people are dropping $500 on them they must do something...

thanks

in the case of a motor swap it can alow you to use the front motor mount in some cars.

-better traction,

-more room for turbo

-cleaner lookin.

what everyone else said, and if you just spent all your money on a swap you feel stupid poping your hood and seeing a stock crossmember with a chunk cut out of it so it can clear your header. well at least i did.
