Which shocks to buy?! Help please!
I have a 98 accord LX 4 cyl sedan. I'm on a tight budget and I already purchased H&R Sport springs that will lower front 1.5" and rear 1.2". Now for shocks, I kno Tokico Illuminas and Koni Yellows are good, but I was looking at some KYB AGX's and KYB GR-2's. How do those compare with the Tokico's and Koni's? Thank you for your input!!!

Never ran Koni's but Tockicos are way too soft. Get the KYB AGX's and you won't be dissapointed.

I second the KYB AGX's. I can't speak for them in an accord, but I have them in my Maxima with H&R springs and the shocks/struts are outstanding. Fully adjustable to fine tune your driving style and preference. Great product!

I third that. I have KYB AGX/H&R sports on my prelude. Amazing ride for the $500 dollars I spent on them.

there are no AGX for your gen of accord</TD></TR></TABLE>
i knew someone was bound to say it. If tehre were AGX's i would have got those but there arent any for the 6th gen, so to the 3 whole recommended it....you really have no idea what you're talkin about and i wouldnt take their word.
I have my AV6 dropped on S-techs and Gr-2's. The ride really sucks so imma be switchin out to a full coilover setup soon, maybe Apexi or Zeal. I wish HKS had a setup for us 6th gens.
If your on a budget, dont waste your money on Gr-2's or the Tokico blues, they are just stock replacements. Might as well save up a bit more and get the real good stuff and ride on your stock shocks til they blow.

Hey genius. If you would read closer, 92prelude and I were commenting on KYB AGX's on cars (Prelude and Maxima) other than accord. We didn't post that they were on our accords. And you CAN take my word for it because I have had them for two years. They are great shocks/struts! That is all I am saying. I never claimed having them on my accord.
The originator of the tread ask what we tought about those shocks, including KYB AGX. I was under the impression that he or she had already done his research and found out that AGX indeed were made for his generation Accord.
tein ss/stech are not worth it....both were made for the american market, and arent nearly as good as the "standard" teins made in japan.....+ their only popular because there the least expensive of all japanese coilovers.....ever wonder why more ricers dont sport full body ZEAL decals??....
just picked up my car w/ AGX's and sportlines.....if happiness is a warm gun, ive got a white-hot desert eagle in my hand right now...too bad no AGX for you heavy *** 6th gens

Koni Koni Koni. I had KYB and they improved things in a Regal, they are relatively cheap, but Konis IMO are the best. I had Bilsteins in a 99 Golf, they were not cheap but cheaper than Konis. Wish I'd used Konis. I've had them on various cars since about 1970, none recently, but their rep is honestly earned.
