Default type R cams on a GSR

Do you have to upgrade to ITR Valve Springs and Retainers ?
or can you just swap those R's in ! ?!?

if you're gonna keep the same redline then i don't think you need to upgrade your valvetrain. However, the type R cams still make power past 8100 rpms so you're gonna wanna up the redline.

I have ITR cams with stock valve springs. I also know several people running ITR/CTR cams with stock valve springs. It is fine as long as you do not increase the redline. Somepeople say that you have to upgrade to ITR valve springs even if you do not increase the redline, but I have not seen anyone have problems yet for running ITR/CTR cams with stock valve springs.

my 2 cents

Someone once said when replacing the GSR cam shafts with ITR's, buy the ITR intake valve springs.
Take out the GSR intake vavle springs, replace with the ITR intake valve springs, and then switch the intake GSR valve springs with the exhaust GSR valve springs.

Has anyone else have experience with this or heard this before?

i've taken mine to 9250 a few times.... never again though.... take it to 8500 on stock valve springs and u'll be fine..... replace the ecu so that u get rid of that pesky rev limiter and also bump up ur vtec point.....

also if u can get rid of the gsr intake manifold the dual stage intake manidfold messes with the powerband on the ITR cams.....

yes - the GSR intake outer springs are the same as ITR exhaust outer springs (same part # too - I think) I do not know about the inner springs though
