My car died today
I had just left my house to get to work. All of a sudden the radio shuts off along with the tach and speedometer, and the SRS light was on. I was a little confused, but kept on going. I get to a stop, as I'm about to turn left, I notice my idle is at 100 or less. I give a bit of gas, the car responds for a fraction of a second then bogs and dies. So there I am in the middle of the intersection with a car that's not running. I try to start it again and all I hear is the clicking from the starter. So I push it to the side of the road and walk home to get my dad's truck.
I'm 90% sure it's my alternator, because for about a week now, I've been hearing a high pitched sound coming from the alternator pulley. Plus the other day I had a little bit of trouble starting the car. I guess the car had been practically running on the battery for a little while and the battery lost its charge. That would explain the fact that I can't start it now.
When I swapped the GSR into my Civic, I had to change the starter and the battery because they were both finished. I'm guessing now it's time for the alternator.
Any experience or opinions?
