Yea, it'll be loud but you won't break it.

I did a test drive without a muffler when I was playing with the rear suspension...it actually had a deep sound to it, but I think my header is the reason for that.

yea, leave that bi0-tch off. When I was waiting for my I/H/E to arrive for my GSR, I took the muffler off for a couple days. It's not much louder than some of those super loud exhausts...Fun to take a drive in a residential area real late at night and haul ***

I've heard of people doing this and actually it making power? Is it at all give any gains compared to having an aftermarket muffler?

i remembered a couple of years ago, i took out my muffler and piping!(dont ask me why)

So at the end of my headers, all i had is the cat-converter/resonator on!
Do not run this on your teg! You will regret it!

Just to let you guys know! Its ok just to take off the muffler ONLY!

Yeah, most of my friends who are too cheap to go out and buy a cat back, just do this "mod". It doesn't sound too bad, but then again it doesn't do much but add sound either. It might even hurt your torque a bit.
