Default Higher compression b18c1 and stock ECU?

Hey guys, I have a B18C1 w/ usdm ITR pistons in my CRX, which according to the c-speed calculator, gives me a compression of about 10.8:1

I'm getting this swap BAR approved. Will the stock p72 run this alright or will I have problems? I'll be running 91 octane.

Will it be okay to run it like this for about 600 miles while I break in the engine and the new clutch?

Also I'd like to mention, I'll definitely go with a custom chip after I get it approved to get maximum performance out of it, but I'd just like to know if I'll be okay for now.

depends on what u mean by fine i guess....

chances are with higher compression than stock your ecu will run lean. this could be cleared up with a chip or VAFC.

I can probably get a friend of mine to chip it for me before I take it to get smogged, but I'm just curious as to how I can get it to run nice and safe for the break-in period and still not be too aggressive as to the point where I will fail the emissions test.

Just looking for some opinions..

the best way to do it is on a dyno.

you can get it programmed or chipped how you want to, but the easiest way to do it is where you can get results.

i had a similar setup a couple years ago only my head was milled 20thou, it ran fine on a p72 but when i tuned with a vafc i gained alot of midrange, if you worried at all and will be dynoing soon then just retard the timing a few degrees to be safe

Im running a b16 blcok GSR head hybrid with a stock USDM P72 setup for 10:1. Im running about 10.5:1 with a few hiccups in power delivery. Im pretty sure it can be taken care of with my hondata (not installed yet) but for the most part it runs fine on 91. I check the plugs every oil change and im going to make sure all my grounding and vacuum lines arent the culprit. Other than the occasional odd surge in power, everything is fantastic.

you should be fine on stock ecu. I run a stock ecu on my buddies jdm gsr and those motors have the same pistons as R's and it runs fine. a good reprogrammed ecu will help but that is for the future but for now you should be ok given everything else is in working order.
