You bought it with all that stuff on it? Good deal. Just make sure it's tuned correctly if that's the case. It'd be a shame to blow all that up.

In the first thread you posted, you talked about how you starved your engine of oil due to your oil pan not being baffled .

So Spoon dont actually make their own...they just take an OE one and weld in the plates to baffle it????

I personally have not seen a Spoon or Mugen baffled pan. Is this the quality that they would produce? It looks like this was done by a HS student in shop class with an oxy-acetylene torch. (It is brazed, not welded.) Heck, there are wire wheel scratch marks all around the brazing.

Regardless, the baffles will do the same job, despite the looks.

There have been comparisons of the Mugen and Spoon pans in the past, and the Mugen ones seem to always look much more professionally built, while the Spoon ones look more cobbled together.

Just a thought. I can see the 'horizontal. baffle plates that stop the oil fron leaving the pick-up under braking and accelleration, but I can't make out any vertical plates that would direct the oil to the pick-up under cornering (check out the Mugen pics as there should be vertical fins above and below the horizontal plate.).

While you have the pan off, you might want to add those plates.

In regards to brazing, done properly, there is little heat distortion and it is certainly strong enough for the application. IMHO, there is no need for the Bling-Bling of TIG inside the pan where nobody will see it.

That was my thought that is not a tig weld but brass...... Some one did that not a factory or a parts suppler. See the one lone weld to the side but not in a series that is bad and could cause a crack. Over heating only one spot and not welding for a longer run will super heat the metal and could pull through causing a hole to the out side world. A stitch weld needs to be longer and more systematic not just a tach weld.
While it is out i would have that done right. Sorry to rain on a good time..
