WTF is on my rod cap? (56k prolly handle it)
What the hell is this black stuff on my rod cap? It looks kinda like maybe... burnt oil? it's black, looks like a liquid, yet doesnt rub off with my hands? BTW these are Eagle H-Beams if that helps.
Here's a few pics...
Thanks a ton...

Okay, so what do I need to do to remedy this situation... Do I need any work done to the crank? (It's not like... beautiful mirror shine or anything but the scratches are almost looking like what a flex hone does only much smaller, cannot feel them...
EAGLE RODS ONLY USE OEM HONDA BEARINGS AND THEY ARE GOING TO BE #2OR#3 SIZE ROD BEARINGS FOR THEM you have to chk these with a bore guage and go accordingly you are going to egg those rods for sure the way your going. most rods from eagle are #2 size bearing but some note that they are as large as #3 size so it is CRIDICAL TO CHK THEM!!!
DO NOT USE AFTERMARKET BEARINGS!!!! OEM HONDA ONLY THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN CLEARED UP WITH WHOEVER SOLD YOU THIS RODS

chk out of round with a bore guage if you do not have one i got one and can chk it or take it to your local mach shop and have them chk it , if it is not egg shaped then a line hone is needed. or replace the rod.,and i got singles in stock, meaning one rod for sale

Machine shop--It will get honed.

Get some of the rougher scotch brite and scrub the metal. Then hit it with some softer scotch brite to polish it. The dark will come off. No big deal...
However, it looks like you were running low on oil pressure, using dirty oil because of not changing it or just abusing it. Looks like you just caught it in time before rod knock or spinning a bearing.

Haha, yea... I think the headgasket blew and then the oil pump went out... One Saturday night white smoke just started pouring out the exhaust and the temperature went up well beyond it's normal temp on the gauge so I was like: "Umm... That's not the new PCV valve" lol. Tore it apart and found the headgasket messed up and the block in complete fucked-up-edness so I just decided to yank those awesome pistons/rods and get all new EVERYTHING ELSE. lol. block, crank, ITR oil pump, etc. etc.
