hydro-locked monday. took it to pep-boys because my insurance company said thats the only place they could tow it (i need triple A). anyway sucked up water. i didnt hear anything like break in the car. it like just powered down it seemed. like i was running off my battery n it died. anyway.. they call me tuesday saying they got it runnin again but there is a lot of sound coming from the head. i thought they were talking about my water pump because it squeaks like crazy n i need to change it. anyway i get the car n start it up. i hear the sound n knew it was valve tap from the start. so my question is... how would i go about fixing this? would i have to take off the head to see which valve is messed up or what??? or would it be best to just get a new engine? thx

 

what do you mean by valve tap? Maybe the valves just need adjusting, if thats the case its real easy and u dont need a new engine, and it would make a lot of sound from your head if they werent adjusted right...

 

if i were in your shoes i would pick up a helms and work on it myself. or just go to a shopp
