my car worries me too much

after i was glad my uncle got the short down last couple week ago now my battery gone dead agian and i think there is another short.....this is a newbattery and what can kill it ?

alternator is going bad maybe.
Did you test the batter will it jump start?

well i found out my alt went bad and killed everything and that is possiable right ?
