Default question about pulling a vacuum on AC system

Hi. I'm getting ready to evacuate my AC system with a vacuum pump. I've got the high and low side gauges hooked up, and the vacuum pump hooked up to the 3rd hose, and everything open. Is that all I need to do, before turning on the pump? The instructions for my gauges say something about opening up the discharge and suction service valves on the compressor. But, I don't see any valves on the AC compressor.

Perhaps that doesn't apply to my 93 Honda? Any advice is appreciated.

both valves are generally found in transport refigeration units. just open up your hand valves put in a vacuum and that should be fine. but you shouldn't use a vacuum pump to evacuate system, cuz all it does is vent refigerant into the atmosphere. it is harmful to the environment and illegal, but i've done it a few times.
