2.5" on b18b1... anyway to keep it quiet if its N/A?
I have a 1995 del sol that was previously turbo sohc.. it was fitted with 2.5" piping for better flow for the turbo.
Recently I swapped in a b18b1 and have just used the stock exhaust manifold to the straight 2.5" piping.. It had a 3aracing autozone special chrome muffler on it before that didn't sound bad turbo'd.. now it sounds horrible..
I took it to the exhaust shop and my fiances dad gave me a 2.5" oval style muffler.. that helped a bit, but now it sounds like a tin can in a bike tire above 3000rpms... It had this problem previously, but was louder..
Will a 2.5" aftermarket cat and long resonator make the exhaust useable, or should I just give up, save up, and get 2.25" complete exhaust, or something smaller?
I really want to be able to drive my car without feeling like im being offensive to other drivers..
Cliff Notes: When I step on the gas, the sound is the equivalent of sticking my head out of the targa top and cussing at all the cars around me... Rice!

Im going to put both in if it will quiet it down even a little bit more..
anyone else have a take on this? ... now that I re-read my cliff note, thats funny as hell.. lol

alright.. my fiances father can't get a resonator until tuesday, and Im not sure on the price.. anyone know a good place to buy a 2.5" resonator for a good price? He was telling me that I could but a glasspack in place and it would work as well, but I have heard that these things wear out pretty quickly.. someone give me their ideas on that...

I heard the same thing about glass packs. They make add ins for the exhaust to control the tone, it works like a throttle body(with a butterfly), I can't think of the name right now. But that should help with tone and flow. The cat/resonator is the best though
errr,
cats make a large difference in sound.
you need a cat.
gnarly raspiness is your companion till you get a cat of some sort.
or at least replace it with another resonator.
i'm going to try one of those ebay style hiflo cats(basically a resonated test pipe).
