Default 195 50 15

just wondering if any of you guys know if 195 50 15 tires would be able to handle the load from dc chassis; keeping in mind that the load index on this size tire tends to be lower than 195 55 15. I just heard that this size tire with it's load index is meant more for civic hatches/smaller, lighter vehicle. Thanks guys.

I know of many people running that for a long time without a problem.

Just check the difference of the max load capacity on Tirerack, then you'll see how small the difference is......

I think Chris N ran that size S03's on his R before; while there was no problem, he didn't like the feel of it.

I would not use a 195 50 15 on the track. I DID once, but it was my first event (i.e., I had stock pads, fluid, stock everything).

For the street I'd say they are fine. The load ratings are given for each car for a reason - and I'd be wary of using 195/50/15 on the track where you might be pushing the limits of the car (i.e., weight transfer, adhesion, etc).

I actually ran 195 50 15 before but with really, really, really cheap tires. After a couple months of hard cornering I noticed that all the sidewalls had bubbles; I thought maybe it was just a really cheap tires but i'm suspecting that it was a combination of the lower load index and bad quality tires. Thanks for the input guys.

I run 195/50 Pirelli PZeros on OEM wheels for street use. Great tire for $50 each (purchased at Tire Rack over a year ago, but now not available). I will probably go with 195/55 or 205/50 for my next daily tire.
