Default Want to run LOW 13 sec. quarters in street trim 98 EK hatch

Ive got $5000 to spend. As of now, i have an 01' ITR motor and trnny in the car. It sits on 5 lug w/ ITR wheels and Falken Azenis with Tien HA suspension... Thats prettymuch all that is needed to be known i guess... I was going to go boost, but now am gunna build an all motor beast that is relaiable and hangs with STi's... Help me out, i have been out of the NA world for about a year while collecting turbo stuff only to sell it all away... Thanks guys

well u already have the itr motor and tranny.

im running the same motor with a iceman ram air intake system , erick's racing header, p28 chipped ecu, untuned vafc with 22x8x13 mh slicks and run 8.35 in the 1/8mile thats like 13.1 in the 1/4mile.

and yeah it's a 96 hatch full interior. and stock internals.

good luck!

get rid of the 5 lug first, that's almost 50lbs over what your car weighed stock.

get some 22/8/13 MH's on some lenso or such, and learn how to drive your car as best as it can be

you should be mid/high 13's there....so get a GOOD header, run open exhaust (at the tracK),get a GOOD set of cams, and get j's intake. then go to a GOOD tuner and ge ttuned. that should get you to low 13's.

the ITR motor and tranny is a good plateform already ...with 5k id get a good I/H/E setup hondata and run it from there and just build ontop of that ...

Yes i do, on slicks, but i want to do it on street tires. this car is daily driven. i dont want nos, and im staying all motor, so a S/C is out anymore ideas? 2.0L, 12.0cr, stage 2's, hondata? that would probly do it for me no? where are the guys that know it all? upup

oe bearings
new water pump/oil pump
RLZ stage 2 head work
nice set of cams
uberdata and TUNE it

i dont even think he would need to sleeve it ...i think it possible with a 1.8L but but the compression with some Skunk2 stage 2's or whatever cam you like that fits the compression you plan to run ...this is something you would have to read into and think about meaning how much tuning you want to do and what octane and etc ...

This is true. octane would be 93. I could get away with doing 12.0cr, and tuning would be key

my friends got an itr swap in his eg and he went 13.4 bone stock with slicks. i think some good headwork and decent cams should easily put you in the low 13s if not high 12s.

ive seen people run 12.5 compression ...and there are a few people on there that run alot higher than that ...but id prob stick with 12.0-12.5 in that range and with some good headwork and cams to complement i think you can definatly reach your goal ..
