I have a d16a6 bottom end and a d16y8 head. I am currently using spark plugs for the d16y8 head. I noticed a hesitation or missing(misfiring) under harder acceleration. Someone mentioned that I should use colder plugs. I agree to this but should I use plugs meant for the head or for the block?
Since its a mini me I am not sure which one to use? I am currently using stock repalcement NGKs from the same year as my 1999 d16y8 head but should I be using plugs meant for the d16a6?
I have been running the y8 plugs NA for a while now without problems. I just went to boost 1 week ago and about three days ago I started to notice this problem.
I am asking cause I need to go 1 range colder and I need to order the correct plugs.
So either I go 1 range colder on the d16a6 plugs or 1 range colder on the d16y8 plugs.
I also searched but I did not find info on this subject.
thanks

Im using ngk zrf7f-11's in my boosted d16y7.. The stock plug is a zfr5f-11 so im running 2 heat ranges colder than stock..
The d16a plugs are bcpr6e-11 IIRC. The zfr plugs have a (ISO projected) slightly longer nose. You're probably ok with either.
