Default Vtec Solenoid

Im in need of one quick and my friend has his gsr all apart and will a gsr one fit on my b16 head for the time being until im able to locate a b16 one?

Well ****. Im in a predicament. My friend has a GSR torn apart right now and for my ls/vtec project to be done, i need a vtec solenoid since people alwyas outbid me on ebay and I was just gonna use his until i bought one. We have a honda/acura meet here in the midwest saturday and i was hoping for it to be done.

Well that **** fell through, will a single cam solenoid work on a b series motor?

well im mainly trying to find one locally because I need it within the next couple days and all I can find are single cam ones


SOOOO Will D series ones work with B series?

im not sure about that, but there is such a thing as over night/2 day/3 day shipping. i have one sitting right here and could be shipped out wednesday/thursday i bet it wouldn't cost more than $15-25 to ship out either.

it'll work, all it is is a solenoid, they both receive the same voltages to activate so they will do the same...

The solenoid may be the same but the valve body that its mounted too might be different. Sohc and Dohc valve bodies are different. Some b16's use different gasket/oil screen than other years. Some have a 2 wire oil pressure sensor, some single wire and some have a plug cast to where it would go. So saying a solenoid is the same yeah, but the actual part that bolts to the head may be different.
