Default PLEASE HELP- OBD2 B18c1 in OBD1 car w/ OBD1 ecu

For some reason my car (93 civic vx) is running really rich and everything on my 98 GSR motor is stock (except exhaust). It is hooked up to a P72 ecu and my question is . . Is it true that I need a OBD1 distributor and injectors to make it run right? Right now I'm pretty sure my motor is all stock 98/OBD2 spec. Are the distributor and injectors the same for 94-95 GSR vs 96-01? tried searching so sorry if this has been covered.

What engine harness did you use? If you used the harness off the 98 (obd2) then you may just need to get your ECU chipped to have the correct amount of fuel etc.

The 94-95 gsr is obd1 and if you use the engine harness off that car then im pretty sure you will have to change over a few things like the distributor and injectors.

I have the 93 civic vx (OBD1?) engine harness with an OBD1 ecu and my motor was OBD2. I have reason to believe that my injectors are OBD2 but the distributer is OBD1. So i think my injectors is whats making me run rich but I'm not sure.

all 92-95 civic and 94-01 teg injectors are the same. 240cc. changing them to obd1 i dont think will help. the stock gsr obd1 p72 does tend to run a bit rich. do u have a fpr or aftermarket fuelpump? that may also be part of the problem

everythings is stock, yes I have an OEM 99 civic si fuel pump. I don't think all integra 94-01 injectors are the same. I have a feeling they vary from OBD1 to OBD2. Why would people change them out then when doing a swap?

they are all 240cc, the diff between obd1 and 2 is the plug on teh injector.

wrong injectors are same size on both engines....

fyi....obd 2 injectors will NOT work with an obd1 wireharness unless modified!

you might have the wrong mapsensor plugged in.....you need to use the 3 wire plug that runs off the firewall for your map....if you used the one on your wire harness that is why you are running rich

Maybe try setting the TPS, like Chad said:check the MAP, the only thing different about the injectors are the plugs that go to them, and the wiring on either dizzy can be modified to work. Again, that's just a plug issue.

The 3 wire plug that is next to my service connector? In that green rubber boot? Oh ****. Anyone know how to do this?

The only 3 wire plug that I see is from the engine wiring harness (which has been switched to 98 gsr). When you say don't use the one on my wiring harness, do you mean the main harness (93 civic) or the engine harnes (98 gsr)

What did you do about the O2 sensor- how did you know which plug to run as your primary? Didn't the engine harness have 2 O2 sensor plugs since it was a 2000?

I also have gsr (95) with (00) gsr motor, I just ran both o2 sensors and just bolted the cat to the exhaust pipeing, and no check lights, you just have to remember to use obd1 ecu , cause the rest of the engine sensors wont be monitored by the ecu because its not on the ecu's (obd1)parameters like crank position, 2nd o2, etc..

All 92 Civics, VX, SI civics are plug and play with any GSR motor. just use the GSR engine harness OBD1 or OBD2 same end plugs and plug it to the cars harness(some plugs may not be needed) and plug in the OBD1 ECU.

All 92-only Civics and all VX's and SI come with all VTEC wires into the ECU already ran.

When doing a swap you have many options for engine harness's, the best bet is the 94-95 GSR for OBD1 motors or 96-00 GSR harness for OBD2 motors. The harness must match the distributor and injectors.

If those harness' aren't available, you can use an LS harness and run the VTEC wires or rewire your Civic harness for the VTEC and four wire O2.
