Default Turbo of Choice?

Here is my setup I have built B18B only pushing 9psi with a FMAX kit, I need a new turbo. It will be a daily driver, I hope to achieve 250-300 hp (streetable). I am on a budget no more than 600 I was thinking probably another t3/t4. I don't quite understand the "trim," of a turbo and how it effects performance.I'm not trying to achieve huge amounts of power, I just want fast street car. What are you guys using?

Did you do any internal work on the motor??
If I was you, I would get t3/t4 as you just said. The T3 would be great for your power goal, but I dont think you will stay in that power range forever.
A t3/t4 come with 50,57,60 trim with ar of .53, .63.. That just the side of the turbo. For the street I would get a t3/t4 50 trim .63 ar for fast spool time..

After your booscoholic kick in, I bet you want more boost. With that turbo, you still be street driving + able to get you more power as needed..

Dont go too big on turbo size because you will have lag with your little 1.8L, driving on the street suck with all the lag..

Hope that help ya out..

The T3/T04b is the old "70's-80's" model. The T3/T04e has an updated wheel design. Get the "e" if you can. BTW, what happened to the turbo from the F-Max kit?

The "b" housing vs the "e" compressor covers are not 70s or 80s models. These are simply compressor covers that help/hinder certain flow efficiency and help save space in the engine bay. That's like saying the "s" and "h" covers are new for the 21st century..

the T3/T04E 54 trim turbos are great for LS, and because of the longer stroke of the LS, will benefit greatly. If your budget permits, the GT28RS or GT28R are even better Ball-bearing applications for your motor.
