I want a hood pin switch
My alarm doesn't have a hood pin, so anyone can pop the hood and do whatever they want. Can I still buy somehow a hood pin and make it work with my alarm? That way I guess there'd be no need for a backup battery... My alarm is a compustar 2wss-as.
Hood pins are okay, cause they set your alarm off, but once they get under your hood, say bye bye siren. Without proper locks on your hood, anyone can get under it easily. I use a door lock acutator on my hood to pop it. I have one remote to pop my hood, so no one is getting under there. I have a batterybackup siren, that is in the engine bay, and man that thing screams!
To answer your question: goto tweeter circuit city and get an installer to give you an extra hood pin.

Well, it will take them probably at least 10 seconds to lift the hood and disconnect the battery. That is about exactly how much I'll need to run out of my bed and strangle them
I know a backup battery is very important...but I'm not sure yet, what I will get or do. I'm just getting ready to install the alarm and want to make sure I have everything I need/want.

What if one day your car battery dies and you can't pop your hood because of that?

How much they'd want for it? And how do I make sure it will work with my alarm? Do I connect it directly to the brain?

there should be an instant trigger wire on your brain that the pin would connect to.

I'm just moving...**** all this noise. I went all out on security ****, and I still worry.
Moving to a nice gated community with a 24 hr. security patrol and parking within earshot/transmitter distance to my pager alarm.
Lease signing on the 24th...w0000t.

Oh crap, I actually do have a hood pin with my alarm!
I just didn't know what it looks like...but, the hood pin is probably just a safety feature for autostarting the car. Can I somehow make it a security feature? And where do I connect the wire to? To the metalic part at bottom of the pin??? It is confusing...
