ive heard of hood locks, but dont exactly know what they are...............
could someone help explain to me.......????

 

They are a security device to lock the hood of the car so the engine bay cannot be accessed.

 

i was wondering.. do hood locks require modification to the hood? i dont' want to have big locks on my hood.. my friend said he'd sell me his because he didn't feel like installing it..

 

nah man, hood locks are so when your alarm goes off they cant open the hood to disconnect the battery. your alarm should come with a set of accutators. all u do is attch them to the hood. and the when the alarm trips, the locks clamp together.

Or if you have kickpanels for your car like I do. Relocate the hood release, I got mine hidden in a spot that would take an hour to find. I have it also hooked up to an actuator so I can remote pop it with my alarm.

 

So, where could we buy these hood locks? I want to lock my hood with one when my alarm is active. Any estimate on how much they cost?
