Default 1'st gen integra motor in a 92-95 hatch??

i'm asking this question for a friend of mine who just recently blew up his stock D15 engine.

he has the opertunity to get a 1 generation integra 1.6L DOHC (D16A or ZC?) engine complete with tranny, ECU wire, harness etc.........all for a really good price so he needs to know ASAP if he should go for it or not.

the queston he wants to know is will it fit into a 92-95 civic? what would it take to get it to fit into his civic? and can he use his stock D15 5spd hydro tranny on that ZC block?

any accurate information would be appreciated......

thanks.

how cheap can a good price be? its not worth the trouble of swaping an older motor into the car, You can pick up his stock engine probably for about 200 bucks max from someone that took theirs out, youll have more trouble swapping an older engine that basicly is obsolete.

1. That engine's probably seen 100k+ miles.
2. I don't know if it's a drop in, but I highly doubt it'll fit since the 2nd Gen Teg was the first Teg chassis with a B-series engine (B17).
3. OBDI vs. Pre OBD
4. It won't pass emissions since you can't swap an older engine into a newer car.

I suggest looking for a B16.

The 1st gen Integra shared its underpinnings with the 3rd gen Civic. Struts in the front and a solid axle in the rear. I'm pretty sure the 2nd gen was double wishbone.

He is saying that the 2gen teg shares similarities to the 4th gen civic moreso than a 1st gen teg or 3rd gen civic
