UK Accord Type R 5th gear syncro replaced but strange noises now?
I had my car in for 5th gear syncro replacement and the gear change is fine but there was a strange vibration/wobble when accelerating or decelerating over 40mph while in gear. I took it back and this seems to be ok now but not sure if intermitant fault. Now there is a clunk noise at low speed drive off and repeated clunking when turning right and driving off. I spoke to a guy who said that the slip diff may not have been correctly spaced causing wobble and worn track rod end causing noises but the dude who fixed the gear box said that he would not touch the diff during a 5th gear syncro replacement and so this could not be the case and that they tightened a loose bracket that sorted the wobble.
Could removing gearbox and replacing it damage the trackrod end?
What is going on?????
Help!!!!!!!!!

what is "drive off" or "driving off". Not trying to be a dick, just wondering what your talking about thats all.
I'm sure your not a dick!
I was trying to say : moving from a stationary position in first gear and driving off.
Anyway I took it to Honda who said that the D/S drive shaft has excessive play at join to gear box requiring possible new bearing & pot joint.
Thanks anyway.
