OH NO!

A pretty B17 block that got OWN3D by the Die Grinder. Poor block webbing.

You owe that block by buying a nice manifold now that doesn't sit the compressor so close. My votes would be for the LoveFab SST. Or be unique and get the headache of a time Sidewinder.

i know.. but i'm already broke because of that list of parts.. and they had less mileage than the b17 cams.. (114K)

besides.. cams are easy to change.. i can get some later..

any excuse to tear the car apart is a good one.

Alright, just checkin.. . you better change them out soon. Did the b16 internals fit without any mods?

Thats a great set up.. That thing should REALLY rip.. Make sure that when you do your cams - you ante up for some 98 R cams. There have been some VERY nice gains proven on baller ser ups like your own.

Beautiful build. Great to see stuff like this going on..

I would smooth it out. All of the scratches and ridges act as stress risers which would make it more succeptable to cracking.

B16 and B17 share the same deck height. It is the B18's and B16B's that have the taller height

ok, i'll smooth out the block.. just for you man..

yeah.. it's a bastard, b16/b17/b18c5
i don't even know what to call it anymore..
i was calling it a 1.7T, but obviously it's 1.6 now..
i dunno, i just want it to run.. perfect, forever..

i'm probably going to need limited slip, and a new 4th/5th gears..
my tranny already has the shortest gears on any tranny..
3rd tops at 80, 4th at 110, and 5th at 135?

i had the turbo running on the stock b17 last summer, til i spun the rod bearing..
first gear is over fast (especially with uberdata + full-throttle launching)
second would spin if i didn't shift carefully, third and fourth were just fun.

but that was 8-10 psi, stock compression..
now the motor will be lower compression and less displacement..
i can't wait to play with this thing..
