anyone ever added auto door locks to their civic?
Do you mean powerlocks?
I did mine and it was easy. Just line up the actuator on to the locking link and bolt it on. Then drill holes onthe inner door frame and use brackets (included) to hold the actuator.

?? you have to hold the outer handle on yours? mine I cant lock it from the inside unless I hold the inner handle open or if the door is closed already. But that has nothing to do with the power lock part of it.
yeah i know it is a fail safe way not to lock our keys in our cars, but is the actuator strong enough to pull it down with that fail safe or do i need to mod it?
the drivers door will not lock if its open without holding the inner handle what so ever. power locks or no. its not designed to.
If the door is closed the actuator will lock the door you shouldnt have to hold the handle out!!!!
You can get a cheap keyless entry system or an alarm that would be the cheapest route to go

Just wait until the door is closed and then Lock the doors. Thats why keyless entry is almost a must if you add on aftermarket locks. I added an autoloc system about 2 years ago. I love it, Ill deal with the Xtra 5 pounds of weight for the convenience, besides my Si is a pig anyways. Hardest part was wiring through the doors, other than that it was breeze.
Only complaint I have is with my remotes, they are horrible so I dont know i would recommend autoloc unless they are better now. commado alarms looks like they have nice factory remotes and for $8o you cant go wrong, check out this link.
