Yeah, you can buy the 'proper equipment' for the amount a shop will charge. Plus you'd get some DIY experience

Yeah, you've got a jack in your car, Sears sells 2 and 1/4 ton rated jackstands for $15 a pair, and you can pick up an extremely basic socket wrench set for about $6-10 also from Sears if you don't already have a socket wrench. There's no other tools needed.

Keep in mind the bolts are prob all rusted on so basic tools will not be enough...a cheap 4" grinder with a cut-off wheel will save you much time and aggravation.

All my bolts came off with the socket wrench with minimal effort. I don't think a grinder is necessary, probably just some penetrating oil or even WD-40

2 Jackstands: $15
Hydraulic Jack: $20
PB Blaster: $3
Cheap set of sockets and a ratchet: $10
Hammer: who the hell doesnt already have a hammer?
Just stick the socket on the bolt and hit the ratchet with a hammer to loosen it up (after spraying PB Blaster on it, of course
). Now you'll have the satisfaction of knowing you did it yourself, and you'll have a little set of tools to work on your car in the future.

No, from what I've seen PB Blaster penetrates much better than WD-40. WD-40 is good for cleaning and as an intial lubricant. For breaking rusted bolts free go with PB Blaster, it does wonders.
