attn socal people, mostly LA area
i was wondering if any of you know of good shops to replace the timing belt and water pump with oem parts (read that thats the way to go). ive called some dealerships and the best quote ive gotten was 499 plus tax. i got my car with about 98k, now im at 105k. the previous owner told me they got the 90k tune up but didnt bother with the belt and pump, so im stuck with doing that now. thanks ahead of time.
this guy in burbank california named "jamie's auto repair" did my belts, pump, cam seals, crank seal, and valve cover gasket for 500.00 cash tell him Dr. Thorburns (thor-burn) son reccomended you. and call first. (use 411)
and dont mention honda-tech. and if asked, i drive a white integra 3rd gen.

Honcura in glendale. the mechanic Stanley does mine and my brothers' cars. He charged me 360 for new timing belt, ac belt, powersteering belt and water pump. Price includes labor. He uses OEM HONDA parts
dam that deal is mad good too...im kinda far from la habra though, so i wouldnt mind the extra 60 bucks by going to that place in glendale. thanks for the info guys.

my guy uses all oem parts... and he did thet crank seal, cam seals, and the valve cover gasket. all these 300 quote's dont include that. and that shi* is important. call thoe othere guys and ask them how much w/ those extra parts and labor. you'll see a nice jump. and if less then 500 jump on it.

thats funny how when a person says glendale they automatically think "bro, bro, bro" Too bad my mechanic is chinese, and yeah OEM parts in honda packaging.

**Note: I am simply stating my experiences with dealerships and shops. I dont mean to offend any staff members of these establishments, or deter business from them.
Might not help, but these are the shops i've dealt with.
Pasadena Acura: Pay an arm and a leg for parts, labor slightly over priced, porter washed my car niiiiice, pressure dent on my dr.side fender as well..
Colonial Honda (Glendale) : Parts also priced high, service writers reminded me of used car salesman, mechanics do decent work but unfortunately service writers charge you for more than what's done.
Cerritos Acura: Nice people, parts priced very close to online "hookups", never had a problem with them.
Santa Monica Acura: Nothing good to say, nothing bad, just priced high.
Hollywood Honda: Overall, priced decent, not the cheapest but they dont rape. Haven't been there for 2 years so the ethics might have changed.
